My new favorite chai recipe (with rose water and vanilla)!
For 4 cups
700ml of water
300ml of almond milk
5 whole black peppercorns
3-4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
2-3 thin slices of fresh ginger
5-7 cardamom pods
a hint of fresh vanilla (how to open a vanilla bean)
2 tablespoons of rose water
2 tablespoons of black tea
Raw ane sugar to taste
Heat a large pot and roast the dry spices until the aroma arises. Add the water and the ginger and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Add the black tea and cook for another couple of minutes (3-5). Pour in the rose water, strain into a cup, add the milk and sugar (or any other sweetener) to taste.
